Tea tree (Melaleuca alternifolia) is an essential oil with a well-established reputation. The essential oil has a strong medicinal smell. It is found in a very large number of personal hygiene products (soap, shampoo) and cosmetics. It has many properties, being a powerful anti-bacterial with large spectrum of action, anti-fungal, antiviral and a powerful immune system stimulant. It also acts as skin protector during radiotherapy sessions.
Physical conditions: Mouth ulcers, candida, bacterial or viral infections of the respiratory track, sinusitis, prevention of burn injuries due to radiotherapy.
Directions for use
- Diffusion: Use 3 to 4 drops to diffuse up to 30 minutes 3 times daily to combat stale or unpleasant odours in the home.
- Topical: Apply to the skin (used topically) for infections such as acne, fungal infections of the nail, lice, scabies, athlete’s foot, and ringworm.
- Add it to homemade soaps and moisturisers to experience its cleansing properties.
- Apply it to skin as part of your night-time routine to help maintain the appearance of healthy-looking skin.
